TÅHUME

As Tahume (a Greek slang expression for “we are a couple”, stylised as TÅHUME), we make video, music, installation and performance work that investigates displacement, social adaptation and identity politics.

Our musical counterpart, Former Athenian Teens, also attests to our interest in unpacking, examining and often offending the constituting elements of our identity. Using ourselves and our upbringing as examples of larger societal patterns, traditions and paradoxical beliefs, we recall and use widely recognisable symbols and references that inform contemporary Greek identity, in order to deconstruct, analyse and expose its nonsensical nature and underlying meaning.
